I am in hopes that someday someone will answer my query about Daniel Carson b Dec.6,1807 Sessia Tyrone Co. Ireland died Oct.26,1869 Jennings Co. Indiana He married May 3,1838 Portage  Co. PA .to Elizabeth Patterson b. March 12,1810 Raphoe Parish Donegal I believe she may be the daughter of William Patterson? but I have no proof. They were both in America by 1830,she may have came earlier.

Daniel had brother Joseph Carson b. July 13,1796 Tyrone Co. Ireland d.Jan.8,1889 in Forrest Co PA. supposed to have married to Martha Orr in perhaps Belfast about 1835.another brother James b. about 1800 died in 1855 Venango Co .PA. He married about 1830 to Maria Shaw in Ireland?

John Carson b. about 1802 Tyrone Co. Ireland d.1862 Venango Co .PA. married about 1837 to Mary Nealy in Ireland.

Mary Ann Carson b. about 1805 Tyrone Co. Ireland? married to James Anderson in Ireland?

I believe that Daniel Carson came to PA. first and the others followed? As some of the brothers had children in Ireland after Daniel was here and married also his sister had a son b. in Ireland as late as 1845.

I hope that you might have some answers as I have hunted for the parents of Daniel for 25 years or more. but Carson is a very common name, as you know. Also Patterson name.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

I am researching Margaret Carson (born November 1762 in NC, died May 1820 in Giles Co TN). She married 5th March 1779 to John Reed at Guilford Co NC. William Carson was surety for the marriage bond and Wm Dent was listed as witness.

They were Scottish-Irish Presbyterians and two of their sons became Cumberland Presbyterian ministers. My line descends from their son Rev. Carson Pate Reed (born 29th October 1798, died 2nd December 1872 in Giles Co TN) who married Tranquilla Jenkins (daughter of Dr Jesse Jenkins and Ann Martin)

In townland of Drumclumph, Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland, John Carson (born 1809) married Ann Eliza (surname unknown, born 1808) in 1831. Their birthplaces are unknown. They were both Church of Ireland although Eliza had previously been Methodist. John and his brother Samuel were farmers of about 78 acres between Castlederg and Newtonstewart. John and Eliza had the following children:-

Armour, born 1833, farmed with his father at Drumclumph, married and died in Omagh, Co Tyrone in 1901

Samuel, born 1836, emigrated to Ontario, Canada, with sister Matilda in 1857 to join brother Robert.

Matilda Jane, born 1838, emigrated to Ontario, Canada with brother Samuel in 1857 to join brother Robert

Robert John, born 1839, emigrated to Canada in 1856.

William Love, born 1843, never married and lived with sister Margaret until he died in 1906

Margaret, born 1846, never married and lived with brother William until she died in 1906

Alexander, born 1850, possibly a police detective in the USA before returning to Ireland where he died of an infection of his toe in 1880, age 30.

I suspect the names Armour and Love reflect surnames of women who earlier had married into the Carson line

Is their anyone whose information links with this?

If anyone can help please contact me at the above E-mail address.

Request from R Robinson at r0may.51@btinternet.com (13th March 2008)

,I would like to find a John Carson for family history purposes. He came to England after the mid 1860s to reside at Shap Beck, Westmorland. He brought his wife Jane Glendinning with him but cannot find any record of their marriage. She was married previously to William Mcneil and had two sons. She also had another child named Robina Glendinning. They had six children in all, from Mary Jane, Robert William, Joseph, Ann, John Thomas & Louisa,  I would like to know who his parents were. The only one that bears any resemblance is an Ann Carson on the 1841 census, from Girthon, Kirkcudbrightshire, as he stated on the 1871 English census, that he was from Minnigaff, but this may be wrong I would be grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction.
